Hello, I’m Tim Peters. Music has been a significant part of my life since childhood. Learning to the play violin at 8 and then progressing to the viola at 14. In between times I taught myself to play the piano. Singing involved choirs at school, including madrigals and the great oratorios.
In the late 1990’s, I discovered Barbershop. The discovery of barbershop was one of those ‘lightbulb’ moments, where I became completely hooked on close harmony singing. Barbershop also ignited my interest in being a chorus music director. That experience led me to direct other choruses including Sound Company, a male voice award winning Barbershop chorus.
I had always wanted to create a mixed chorus. The opportunity came towards the end of 2019 when I ran a workshop for new singers for Sound Company. Several ladies came along to the workshop and Sound Mix was created and began rehearsing in earnest from September 2021.
I am delighted that Sound Mix is already achieving singing excellence within a highly sociable and fun environment.
